Future Implementation of European FP8 for Research and Innovation

29.09.2011

Summary

The purpose of this Special Round Table is to discuss and formulate some common suggestions on how the Commission should tackle the implementation of a future Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
A key topic is how to make public-private research collaborations work better, and how to address societal challenges recognising the needs of other stakeholders such as universities and public research organisations.

EIRMA has been asked to provide a contribution to the consultation, so the outcomes of the Special Round Table will be passed directly to the Commission.
A senior member of DG Research and Innovation will be taking part.

Target Audience

We invite R&D managers, especially those who have experience of working on multi-organisational public funded projects to share their thoughts on how best to make a workable system that meets the political requirements of public accountability, satisfies the needs of researchers in public research organisations and universities, but allows industry large and small to make the most of Europe’s research capability.

Chairmanship

The meeting will be co-chaired by:
Dr Léopold Demiddeleer, Director of Future Businesses, Solvay, EIRMA President (morning session)
Ms Monica Schofield, Director International Cooperation and EU Office, TuTech Innovation GmbH (afternoon session)
