Special Interest Group on Knowledge Management

Knowledge connected:

Communities of Practice & their role in knowledge value creation

EIRMA Special Interest Group - Knowledge Management

7&8 April 2016, Philips, High Tech Campus, Eindhoven,  The Netherlands

In an increasingly dynamic global business environment, knowledge generation and sharing often occurs distributed around the world or in informal gatherings in smaller companies.
To leverage the full value of this knowledge it needs to be consolidated and shared in a concerted way.
Communities of Practice (CoP) are organized in many companies to transform experiences and know-how into best practices or standards.
The impact of knowledge and resulting innovations will be increased by the connectivity, collaboration and co-creation in R&D Communities of Practice.

For 2016 the EIRMA Special Interest Group on Knowledge Management is focusing its attention on Communities of Practice such as R&D networks of experts or Fellow communities.

In our April meeting, hosted at Philips R&D headquarters in Eindhoven, we will explore solutions for creating, managing and leveraging Communities of Practice.

As a participant you will have the opportunity to actively share your challenges, experiences and solutions in R&D Communities of Practice in the carousel discussions.

You will enjoy a dedicated visit of Philips at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. The programme will also include a special visit to various Communities of Practice highlighting how knowledge is connected internally and externally. Participants are kindly requested to bring their ID card.
