From weak signals to big data analysis

From weak signals to big data analysis: Technology intelligence and knowledge acquisition to foster innovation

20 & 21 April 2017, hosted by FrieslandCampina Innovation Center, Wageningen, The Netherlands

For 2017 the EIRMA Special Interest Group on Knowledge Management will focus its attention on processes, methods and organization forms on how to effectively find, retrieve and share relevant information and knowledge to internal research, development and innovation units.
In our April meeting, we will explore solutions for efficient technology intelligence, how to successfully retrieve information, identify and assess new technologies and sharing internally acquired new knowledge.

In today’s globally networked economy, R&D professionals (scientists and engineers) need to better explore the huge amount of information and knowledge created at a constantly increasing pace in the outside world in terms of science, technologies and innovations.

Knowledge Managers need to broaden their knowledge research perimeter and to be able to connect external and internal knowledge.

In a world moving from the "Information Age" to the "Intelligence Age”,  they must be able to efficiently extract on one side small signals which point at potential disruptive innovations, but also to distill relevant information from huge amount of available data, integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning
