Should they shape their own futures rather than reacting to a common perception of what the Future might be?

Financial and Performance Controlling in R&D contributes to the quality of planning in the short as well as in the long term. This follow-up from the March 2009 Round Table discussed tools for better financial and performance evaluation of R&D projects and the role of financial control in R&D.
R&D as a life line: Opportunities and Risks of Challenging Times – 12 March 2010, Amsterdam
This Round Table looked at how not to jeopardize long-term profits by short-term cost cutting in R&D and how to use a crisis as a major opportunity for a brighter future in R&D.
Learning Group, Managing Transitions – 25-26 February, Paris
The 2010 Learning Group focused on key elements to make an organizational change successful.
It showed participants concrete experiences, but also traps and tips, through case studies.
The second session is scheduled on 10 September 2010 in Paris.
Impact of New ICT Tools on R&D Management and Excellence – 12 February 2010, Cambridge
This Round Table made us aware of the new technologies and processes in R&D and demonstrated how scientific systems are used and applied in three different areas; data management and structuring, data analysis, information sharing and networking.

Achieving an Effective Global R&D Network: a Question of Trade-Offs – 28-29 January 2010, St Paul de Vence
The 2010 Representatives Round Table explored how best to benefit from the global innovation network.
Based on the Focus Group’s contributions, the 2010 Representatives Round Table aimed at collectively reflecting on how to achieve an effective global R&D network, with a specific focus on emerging countries.
