Summary
This Round Table will make us aware of the new technologies and processes in R&D.

Issues Addressed
Information and Communication technologies (ICT) have become an integral part of all organizations and R&D is no exception. In some ways, ICT is used in R&D for the same purposes as other business functions, to drive efficiency, manage cost, and to communicate within the organization and beyond.

This Round Table will make us aware of the new technologies and processes in R&D and to demonstrate how the scientific systems are used and applied in three different areas; data management and structuring, data analysis, information sharing and networking.

This Round Table will:

• Explore what ICT technologies are used in R&D organisations today
• Look at the differences between systems and tools and identify when to use one over the other.
• See how new technologies are being harnessed by forward thinking R&D functions
• Look at the next generation of ICT Tools for R&D. Imagine and visualise how ICT will shape the R&D organization in the future.
• Discuss about the impact of new social networking tools and open web 2.0/3.0 environment on IP management and information shielding in the organizations.
