Value Innovation Workshop

15 September 2017, Brussels, Belgium

Summary

EIRMA member Phoreon is a pioneering nanotechnology company, based in the bio-incubator in Leuven, developing its own gold nanoparticles for diagnostic and therapeutic uses. The company adopted the Value innovation process to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its R&D.

The Value Innovation process was developed by former Industrial Research Institute (IRI) president Dick Lee. It is a structured framework to help researchers understand and target innovations that address unmet customer needs; a practical method for implementing the strategic concept of Blue Ocean Strategy.

Implemented by the CEO, Pierre Saelen, Phoreon has used this method successfully (combined with insights from other Innovation methodologies) to plan its R&D programme. It has enabled them to establish a targeted set of research activities to increase the value proposition of its products.

Suggested Preparation

The workshop is intended to be stand-alone and does not require specific preparation. If you would like to learn more about Value Innovations before attending, there are case studies and testimonials on the Value Innovations web site https://valueinnovations.com/category/case-studies/.
The workshop will be illustrated using a real-life example where the Value Innovation process made a major difference for a product innovation. However, if you have a specific issue that you would like to use as a co-creation opportunity within the confidentiality rules of EIRMA then we would be happy to incorporate this into the workshop. Please contact the facilitator Chris Shilling [email protected] to discuss this opportunity
