The topic 

 R&D / Innovation units could have a significant role in creating real citizenship for their companies in big countries becoming increasingly protectionist. Different methods, objectives and trade-off are presented and discussed. Strategic visibility and business impact that these initiatives have are not yet fully achieved. It is not a matter of "if" but of "when"(now).

The speaker 

Alejandro Sanz,Innovation excellence strategist, Certified Management Consultant (CMC), EIRMA Programme Planning Committee member

In his business experience, Dr. Alejandro Sanz was Head of Group Technology Intelligence for SKF and has been Director of Science and Technology in the SKF Engineering & Research Center.

In his previous position he was responsible for the core SKF R&D areas as well as for the external university interactions. 

He covered various technology-oriented positions in the industrial sector. In particular, previous activities included the development of equipment and processes for the steel industry as Executive Manager of Materials Development (Danieli SpA Group, Italy) and the development of high temperature components in helicopter turbines (Turbomeca,France) 

Dr. Sanz holds an engineering degree from Universidad Simon Bolivar (Venezuela), a master degree from Institut National Polytechnique (France) and a PhD from the National Superior School of Aeronautics and Space (SupAero) (France).
