Preparing and handling IP disputes and IP enforcement actions from Asia

Special Interest Group on Intellectual Asset Management

4 & 5 April 2019, Sevilla, Spain

Summary

Last session, we talked about trade secrets and patents in China.

For the spring session, we will start our journey in Asia and follow third party products manufactured there and infringing your company’s IP (trademarks, designs, patents) on their way to Europe.

We will discuss the handling of IP disputes and IP enforcement actions regarding such infringing products both in Asian countries of origin, in re-shipping countries and in entrance countries of the European market, and we will talk about how to use IP & business intelligence and the internet to effectively prepare such actions.

We will present case studies and practical experiences from different industry sectors. The focus will be on best practices & pitfalls how to stop pirate products from entering the European market.

In the following meetings, we plan to continue the topic of how to handle IP disputes & IP enforcement with focus on the United States and on emerging markets outside Asia.
