Corporate Sustainability – Roles and Responsibility of the top management

24 October 2019, DuPont de Nemours, Geneva, Switzerland

Growing public concern about climate change and our planet capacity limits have led to rising expectations for organisations to act in sustainable ways. According to Professor Knut Haanaes, “sustainability is a business approach to creating long-term value by taking into consideration how a given organisation operates in the ecological, social and economic environment. Sustainability is built on the assumption that developing such strategies foster company longevity”.

R&D top management has a responsibility to embed environmentally sustainable behaviours and values into their strategy and workforce.

In most industries, it is becoming a vital competing factor and this trend is likely to continue. So a good sustainability R&D corporate strategy is necessary to be competitive today.

  • How does Corporate Research Management interpret the challenge of sustainability?
What role should R&D top management play to foster positive environmental behaviours in the culture of their organizations?
How to get top management committed to corporate sustainability?
How to develop an innovation strategy which includes environmental sustainability within its core?

The CTO Forum will focus on practical examples and allow for discussion of what has worked and pitfalls to avoid when you implement your R&D corporate strategy for Sustainability.
