USE CASES OF GENERATIVE AI IN INNOVATION AND R&D
Context:
In the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a recent solution seems to offer new horizons to Industrial R&I: Generative AI. It employs machine learning algorithms to produce new data outputs within set parameters, faster than human capabilities. Thanks to its ability to understand and recognize patterns, it can turn raw information into actionable insights.
This is reshaping the R&D landscape, and it is doing so by accelerating the pace of innovation, reducing associated costs, and improving overall efficiency. It can lead to more breakthroughs and advancements across various fields.
However, few companies seem fully prepared for the widespread use of generative AI or the business risks these tools may bring. A recent study by Arthur D. Little shows that only around 50% of surveyed organizations in their study have thus far made investments or hiring decisions that pursue GenAI, signalling a surprising degree of unreadiness.
